i agree. And the the nice thing about the
Red Sox is when they get a lead there bullpen
never blows it.

Who do you want to win the world series and why?
Not who you think will win but who do you want to win.

pretty happy with the matchup
like cards, like how they are always underated and how they have a good farm system. have futures bets on them, would be cool to see beltran get a ring
like how the sox dumped crawford, beckett, gonzalez and started over and now are here
took sox +120 last night just to hedge futures, but i might bet some more on them. great bullpen and too many good hitters imo.

Cards fan my whole life. Plus, we gave the series to Boston on a silver platter in 2004. Bring it!!

I want Boston to win simply because they just traded all of those sky high salary guys. Would be further proof you don't need a team payroll of 215m to win. Love that they went from shit to AL champs in a year.

I was hoping the Tigers get in the World Series. So I win either one of my Tigers or Cardinals to win the world series futures bet.
I'm letting my Cardinals futures bet ride this one out.

Boston are superior. Great hitting and pitching is always good in world series. Some noobs thought boston would be -120 for series but they are -140. Unplayable odds unfortunately. Would hammer sox for series at -120.

The Cardinals have the best roster on a player v. player basis, ie. the Cards are the better team. However the Bosox with a journeyman lineup with several notable exceptions have been a team of destiny under Manager of the Year, Farrell. Neither team will sweep this series, but pound for pound, the Cardinals are better and will win the Series.

as a lifelong sox fan....a fan who didnt attend a game for the first time last year(i effing hated the upper management)....im so thrilled by the turnaround.....the chemistry and it factor guys like napoli, gomes, ross etc have brought is amazing.....it really helps lift this teams stars like ortiz, ellsbury and pedroia......and boegarts had some real good at bats last night....sprinkle in a guy like victorino who has been on some successful teams before...it all adds up....the pitching is pretty solid....the two japs out of the pen have been stellar.....hats off to cherington......on the other side im always amazed by the cardinals...they do it with alot of no names and are just tough as nails too

Have to go with St. Louis as they beat two to notch teams to reach the series while Boston had theirs gift wrapped by the Tigers.

Horse crap, Lou.
You'll bet every game, watch every game, and probably lose all but one of those bets.

Posted this in another thread, deserves to be mentioned here as well.
Three words for ya: Allen Fukkin Craig.
I don't think people realize how important this is. Did you realize/remember that he dominated in the 2011 world series, and would have won WORLD SERIES MVP had David Freese not gone ape shit in game 6?
Do you not realize that ALLEN FUKKING CRAIG is hitting .454 with runners in scoring position this year? Do you not realize that is THE THIRD BEST OF ALL FUKKING TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME?
So, the team that tied for the best record in baseball without Craig down the stretch, who beat two teams many favored to make the series in the Pirates (riding the wild card momentum that's carried multiple teams to the WS in the past decade) and the Dodgers (favored by many on paper before the season even started, and favored over the Cards before the series), this team who accomplished all this now gets arguably their most IMPORTANT and dangerous hitter back in the lineup?
Do many of you also realize that Matheny who now coaches the Cards, was in his last year as a player, starting at Catcher for the Cards in 2004 when they lost to the Sox? Do you not think that Matheny has been fukking ACHING for a chance to help avenge that beatdown from his last year in the bigs? Do you think he's not mentally prepared and focused to strategically put his team in a position to win every game in this series?
Does ANYONE think the Cards are going to get blown out again? If so, you haven't been paying attention.

i am an orioles fan and have been since i was 5 years old... as much as im supposed to hate the red sox i love this team.
the beards, the love... this team is just cool as sht... looks like they all are having fun and keeping it fun and exciting.
the cardinals are boring and super traditional, complaining about the opposing teams etiquette and excitement...
def like michael wacha but i am rooting for the sox.

For the spiritual leader of a horde of degenerates, your comments carry weight. And such irresponsible comments from our version of the Pope is just not cool, coach...
It's going to be great baseball no matter how you slice it, or who you root for.
That being said, GO CARDS!

Boston is not desperate for a winner.
Last decade, Sox got two, Broons got a win, Pats have been pretty damn near a dynasty.
C's always in playoffs too.

Do you have any clue what Boston's payroll is?????
It's 50 million more than the Cardinals and one of the highest in baseball. LOL.

I agree. I mean, for the love of God, there are 1st graders in Boston that can say they have no memory of a Boston championship. And lemme tell ya, unless you're in at least 4th grade, you'd have a hard time convincing anyone you remember the last Red Sox championship. I hope that city's interminable misery finally comes to and end!!! Reverse the 6 year curse..!!

Unfortunately for baseball, you can substitute any 2 teams and no one outside those cities would care. Maybe people nationwide would care for the Cubs, but not really anything else.

Just checked and realized I have the Cardinals at 20 to 1 odds when I bet on them during the offseason.
My offseason bets:
Cardinals 20 to 1
Giants 14 to 1
Tigers 9 to 1
Angels 8 to 1
Definitely letting my Cardinals bet ride.
Obviously if I had known I would have placed a bet on the Red Sox.
