Vikings are desperate for a spark. Can a guy who basically quit on his former team now be a leader?

Freeman is garbage that is more prone to making mistakes than Cassel is, and the Giants' defense could use the help. And no, Freeman is not better than Eli, let's not get carried away now.

I think they will give Cassel one more shot. If Giants win then they could go with Freeman

I think they SHOULD too but it doesn't sound like they will. Let's see what happens.

Giants have a bad defense, someone like Cassel that doesn't make mistakes probably give them a better chance to win with AP running the ball all night than someone like Freeman that gives the Giants hope by forcing balls into coverages. He was awful at Tampa Bay, if he were playing full time, he could have as many INTs as Eli has right now.

I think it's being overstated how bad Freeman is just because of his recent slump. He's shown flashes of really good play over his career, also has a lot of game-winning 4th quarter drives. Sure he sucked for 3 games this year with a coach who hated him and was actively rooting for him to fail, and with Doug Martin unable to get anything going (partly yes due to the passing game being bad, but partly not). Bucs lost their first 2 games by 1 play each, which killed morale. Freeman led what should have been another game winning drive game 1 vs the Jets but then the Bucs D committed a stupid penalty and gave the game away. Then they almost beat the Saints
A change of scenery could do the guy wonders. He has some talent and has shown that. I think he's easily an upgrade over Ponder/Cassel though that may not show in the very first game

Yes, AP should certainly get his, key is keeping him out of end zone and seeing what Freeman can do. If Freeman beats them, Freeman beats them. I'd take my chances with putting extra man in the box to contain AP.

Yeah I'm hoping for this, got Jennings stashed on my bench. Maybe there will be some chemistry there

Careful!!!!! public all over NY Giants !!!!!
Giants are a horrible team.
Dont think for a second that the Giants will have the
typical MNF home field advantage...
New Yorkers are fair weather fans and that stadium should
be almost empty.
AP will go off on prime time, taking out the frustration
of his recent tragedy.

not a huge freeman fan but honestly this year was 100% on his shitbag coach, he never wanted freeman as qb cause he not his "fiery" kind of guy..kid never had a chance to succeed in tampa and not sure why anyone would be shocked if he played well vs nyg defense..

Not shocking at all really. When they signed him, they weren't signing him to sit on the bench. I basically thought this was an audition for them to see if he was worth locking up to something before he hits free agency. Smart move really on a team with no direction. You might stumble into your next QB if he fits your system.
Also admitting already that Ponder is a large FAIL. Cassel I think is a perfect backup, but nothing more.

Freeman is not garbage. You have a mobile QB playing along AP. The Vikings will light up the scoreboard with that pathetic Giants defense.

What? The Chiefs were -24 in turnovers last year because of Cassel Josh Freeman is a top 25 QB Cassel and Ponder not even top 70

Fukkin circus. 12 million dollars in QB's. Give Ponder the ball, guy took you to playoffs. If you're shit, trade for an actual QB. Freeman is awful as well as Cassel.

Christian Ponder "took" the Vikings to the playoffs like Trent Dilfer "took" the Ravens to a Super Bowl win. C'mon man. Freeman has had bad slumps but shown 10x more potential than Ponder
