NCAAF Week 8 Opening Line Discussion

LOVE LOVE LOVE Central Michigan +17 at home vs N. Illinois. CM is flying high after beating Ohio in the last seconds on the road for their 2nd straight win. They have a pretty good MAC tradition up there after doing so well up until about 3 yrs ago. I can't believe I can't remember the QBs name (Dan?)....he made me a ton of $$ either beating MAC schools or going Over against everyone else. NI's D is kind of suspect as well.

Miami/NC...saw an early total of 60. This one just looks like a 38-31 type of game to me.

SMU +3.5 @ Memphis.....I would've capped SMU by 3-4 pts myself. I know its not horseracing but Memp is a massive drop in class from who they've played and they've been a bowl team for several years now and a week off to regroup. SMU wins SU imo.

Wash. St. +38 @ Oregon? This is the best WSt team in years and their D will get a few stops here and there. The only prob is they don't run the ball so can't eat any clock. Small play for me

Fred disagree on Oregon game. Ore st hung 52 on wash st at their place. This should probably be closer to a -45 line. Not good that Wash St giving up 259 a game passing

ESPN U/CBS SPORTS have really good shows. Not for picks or anything like that just straight info. Player/coach interviews and game previews.

New shows every day.

Also I really enjoy reading local newspapers in places where college sports run the state. KY, Arkansas, Bama, etc... (on the net) Nobody knows the barometer of the kids more than the writers that are in the locker rooms and practices daily

I've watched nearly two full Miami games -- at 13th in the nation, yes, they're overrated.

Have you watched any UNC games? Against teams that pass the ball they struggle mightily. (See the ECU game in Chapel Hill). From top to bottom Miami has the better team. I've bet on Miami every single game this year and so I've watched most of their games. They aren't great on defense but they're well coached. They make enough plays on D to get stops and then their offense is pretty much unstoppable. They have great RB's and an above average passing game. They're very hard to defend.

Good luck with that Central Michigan bet. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. As sorry as my wolfpack team is, we easily dismantled Cent Michigan. They're horrible. Northern Illinois will beat them by 30 IMO.

That was on the road and NCstate has a pretty good D-line. MAC teams aren't used to those kinds of crowds. Ohio just won the MAC last year (or 2011?) and still has Tettleton at QB and they beat them on the road last week.

That Northwestern game is tricky... Kain Colter and Venrick Mark are both questionable and in the last eight times N.W. played against Minnesota, Minnesota has covered the spread all eight times.

Either way, I truly find this thread to be a solid resource.

Right now, this grind is currently killing me and I am trying to take a few days away to get my mind right. After a year plus of spot betting, the grind of finding multiple winners each week is getting to me.

UDUB v. ASU is going to be a fun game for sure.

I think I am simply going to try and find electric crowds and backing them for the 1h this week. Who knows WTF to do in the BTP.

To be honest I respect your opinion on West Coast College games very much, and it was a small part of why I came off OSU (still had 'em in BTP)

However It also lead to the total play on the over. Which in turn opened my eyes to the cash cow some of these Pac -12 Overs are.

ULL +147 1x W
Northwestern -12.5 (not sure if 1x or 2x depending on injuries)
Indiana/Michigan O 67 1x
BYU/Houston u 63 3x
Washington/Arizona St O 65.5 2x

I haven't locked in NW yet because I need to see the Injury report later in week, just hope line doesnt go to 14.

Will post some info later in week on why.

The PAC is really shaping up to have some of the easiest to cap games. I'm loving OSU -10 @ Cal. Will do a write up on this on Thursday (might doom the bet since my write ups were 0-2 last week so feel free to fade away).
