Rocket do you check out much KHL? Must be some excellent talents there....also did you ever watch the deceased rangers prospect Cherepanov? That was a terrible tragedy. Think he may have been playing with Jagr at Omsk but not certain.

Nicknamed the Siberian Express, Cherepanov was in his third season with Avangard, a team in southwestern Siberia. In his rookie season in the Russian Superleague, Cherepanov had more points than now-National Hockey League (NHL) stars Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin and Ilya Kovalchuk did respectively, at the age of 17.[1] In March 2007, Cherepanov surpassed the Russian league rookie goal scoring record previously held by Pavel Bure (17 goals).[2]
On October 3, 2008, Alexei tied the Avangard Omsk goal scoring streak record with goals in 6 consecutive games, and continued the streak, which ended at 9 games.[4]

I was very excited to see him in New York. Awful week for his family with his 25th birthday coming up, no one should have to bury a child.

Cherepanov was only 19 when he died, and Yes, he had an incredible talent. Playing with Jagr on the same line certainly benefited him any many ways. There was definitely a potential for him to become the next Russian Rocket.

In terms of the KHL goes, I do follow it, but not as much as NHL. I've been a fan of NHL since my childhood...way before KHL was formed. I remember growing up watching Mogilny, Makarov and Larionov play in NHL.

KHL does have an excellent talent pool. Many players from Russia, Sweden and Finland choose to play over there because the money is better and it's a lot closer to their home countries. Hopefully Olympics in Sochi would showcase some of that hidden talent
