As a Cub fan, I am deeply saddened by this news. Was really hoping we'd get the hometown boy back. Damn Yankees! LOL

Four years and sixteen million for Girardi. Espn said that he made his decision to stay, thus passing on possible offers from Washington and Chicago. Girardi gets along with Cashman. Bet he did not want to work with Rizzo in D.C.

By the end of the deal they will hate him in NY. Not because he's bad but because the Yankees future is pretty bleak regardless of manager. I suspect this was less a baseball decision and more that his family didn't want to be uprooted. Perfectly respectable choice on that level.

As the other cubs fan mentioned, not excited with this news.

Wish we had been savvy enough to drop our guy quick enough to get Ryno at the very least.

Buster Olney just said on bbtn, that Cubs were disappointed and now going after Padre bench coach. Rick Renteria
