People don't like A-Rod because of jealousy. Just like many don't like LeBron, Kobe, Bonds, Manning, Brady etc. People will look for any excuse possible to not like a star athlete because inside they just really wish they were them.

A-Rod has it all and that is why people despise him. It's sad really.

I just think we need to accept the fact that steroid use has been extremely widespread in MLB over the past several years, and get on with it. This wasn't a case of a few bad apples, pretty much everyone was doing it. So, unless we all want to spend the next several years saying "well, I can't like this player or this players record doesn't mean anything now", we should just look past it and enjoy the game on the field for what it is.
