Eh it's just for the celebration. Baseball players always drink those pounders when they celebrate.

I'm serious guys, when it comes to baseball just bet against OP whenever you get the chance. It's that easy. When the tigers lose tomorrow I am pretty sure he will be 0 for the entire postseason.

Whenever Wainright or Kershaw pitch, bet your entire roll on Cards or LA because they do not lose. Easiest money I have made in a long time. Might quit my job with this win.

I said well before the game that it was a stupid move even if Dodgers win because now they won't have him for Game 1. And I see that in the end, the Braves had them where they wanted them with the lead with both bullpens in the game, so Kershaw was not the ultimate deciding factor. I stand by what I said that they could have won this game without Kershaw, the final result does not change that.

I think there is a reason teams do so poorly in the post-season when they start a guy on three days rest.

A rested Kershaw would still be in the game and LA wouldn't be behind right now.

Nothing will change my mind that Mattingly did the Braves a favor.
BINGO! This guy gets it, unlike the dimwits coming in after the fact praising the move just because LA won.

Oh lol now we're worrying about the next series Lol.

Kershaw will pitch Game 2. What difference does it make if he goes 1 or 2? They lose last night and he can't even go until Game 3 next series.

This is the worst logic I've heard yet.

I already responed to your earlier post. How have I gone mental, it seems MANY, MANY people agreed with me. The Dodgers win in spite of Mattingly, this was still not a good move.

Profits you don't worry about the next series. If they pitched kershaw in gm 5 then he would not be available till gm 3 next series. By then they could be down 2 games. Of course all of the baseball guys would then say mattingly sucks cause he has his team down 2 games. Now donny is in the next round earlier than his opponent buying kershaw another day or 3 off. He also has the advantage of juggling his rotation and he has given nolasco something to chew on. I think donny did just fine.

What is? If they win last night without Kershaw, Mattingly can set his rotation however he wants, maybe even pitch Ketrshew three times Game 1,4,7 if Dodgers are down 2-1. I have no problem pitching Kersahw on three days rest down 2-1 in NLCS. Didn't need to do it up 2-1 last night. I firmly believe that (obviously ) so we'll just agree to disagree. I have no problem with you because we had a healthy debate before the game. It is bandwagon jumpers that irk me.

I look at the flip side, winning without Kershaw last night. OK I think I've summed things up enough, onward and upward.

I said if they are down 2-1. Note that I stressed in my initial post that my big problem was doing it LEADING the series. If they were down 2-1, then yeah I would have done same thing, that is entirely difference mindset because then desperation applies. Just like I'd have no problem with Leyland starting Scherzer today. But by using him last night when his didn't have to, now Mattingly no longer has the CHANCE to start him 3 time if necessary.

Worked out pretty well for the skip LT! I didn't have a problem with the move, and neither did quite a few analysts throughout the day.

Besides, he looked very sharp....giving up 0 earned in 6 innings! Defense let him down, but he was pretty stout.

Now the Dodgers have him lined up to go Game 1 on Saturday of the NLCS.......and may possibly be able to get 3 starts out of him if need be.
