for the most part, the money (in their minds) trumps them ever really accomplishing anything as a pro athlete.

There are a few exceptions (Peyton, Brady, Derek Jeter, Kobe Bryant), but they are in the minority.

That's the added risk of sports betting. Not only do you have to worry whether the team you back will play well enough to beat the other team or even just cover a +points point-spread.

Basketball has to be the worst with this shit. At least in football you have so many options on the field (don't back team's with a dumbass or emotionally weak QB, like Cam Newton)

A ton of people were pissed when they found out about JR Smith's clubbing it up the night before playoff games.
