I am not crazy about the fact that this line opened at +6.5, but the line drop is more because Rutgers running back Paul James is now out than it is about being bet down. James was the third leading rusher in the country when he got hurt two weeks ago and this is RU's first game without him as they were on a bye last week. The Scarlett Knight have practically nothing behind him as the rest of the running back rushed for 21 yards on 10 carries after he went down and the teams second leading rusher right now and interim starter Savon Huggins is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. Yes, SMU is 1-3, but the three losses were to Texas Tech, Texas A&M and TCU, so they are probably happy to begin AAC play here. Also the Rutgers pass defense is not as good as past years, in fact it is downright bad ranking 95th in the country, and SMU is averaging 330.5 passing yards per game with former Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert, whose completion percentage is up to 63% this year despite the tough non-conference schedule. Not to mention the Mustangs have the big coaching edge with June Jones.

#3And there is nothing wrong with that.Just don't go putting words in my mouth like in the other thread (or more precisely, learn when I am being saccastic as someone like you that's been here since 2008 should know I have said many times that locks don't exist).

#10LT profit's threads are better than 99 % of all threads in players talk, so i'm fine with him posting one thread per game.
I guess posters who are attacking him, bet one of his picks big and lost .
But these degens will always lose and attack others . Fukk themComment -

#11I DO. I have pick threads in the appropriate subforums that just list the picks, then I create threads on some of them (or even sometimes on games I don't have) with some analysis.Comment -

#12I like to look for analysis on individual games that I am already considering a play on and prefer the game be named in the subject line of the thread.
I don't like sifting through everyone's threads to see if they are on the games I am interested in and could care less what someone's record is. I am looking for insight and analysis--not a tout. Thanks for the thread, LT.Comment -

#13And let me emphasize that just because I create a thread on a game, it does NOT mean its is considerably stronger than a game I list but don't do a thread on. That's where I got hammered last night with guys evidently bet more than they should have on Utah State, especially after I sarcastically called it a "Lock of the Millennium Basic 1* Special". If people couldn't see through that sarcasm and overbet the game, I don't know what to tell them.

#16I can't agree that James being out isn't much of a factor, Rutgers lacks quality depth behind him. Also disagree that Rutgers will be better prepared, the poster seems to be underestimating June Jones. And Rutgers may be "defensive minded", but the players are not as good against the pass and Gilbert should be able to execute given the year he is having.
I should have been more specific. My concern was more around the weather affecting SMU's pass attack.Comment -

#17Meh, weather is overrated unless it is something severe like a monsoon or a blizzard. These guys play through 20 MPH winds very often, it is nothing that would change my mind on anything.Comment -

#21SMU blows. They can put up all the nice passing stats they want but all that matters is putting the ball in the end zone and they are HORRIBLE at that. They are the masters of going on 50 yard drives that stall out and result in no pointsComment -
