I was burnt out from 08, but with my all in win on the Super Bowl, Im feeling more positive so far in Feb 09. Plus I cashed out 6k this week from the SB win, so that has helped my attitude.

I've been burnt out for years. Just doing it now because I like pain.

I'm not a huge fan of basketball. So I'm laying a little low until baseball season. Also, gonna mix in some ponies, thinking about going out to the Big A tomorrow.

It's funny you mention this, JJ. Archie and I were in chat last night discussing much the same sentiment. Usually college hoops is my favorite season, and by far most lucrative. While it's still proving lucrative, the enjoyment factor has gone way down. After giving it some thought, I think it's a form of seven-year itch.
2009 is now my sixth year of gambling, and I think I've gotten a little jaded by the daily grind of selecting the same teams playing the same league slate year after year. 5Dimes now has college hockey lines and I'm reinvigorated by handicapping those games and watching them on TV because it's all fresh and new, like a 20 year old mistress compared to a 40 year old wife. Likewise with my learning process in picking winners in Portuguese soccer.
I think it's all about keeping your head in the game. Always learning, always trying to improve your skills and level of understanding. Gambling is a fantastic endeavor, when you have realistic expectations. In some respects, we're all attending SBR University, and just like a real college, we're only able to get out of it what we invest in the way of effort and dedication.
I aspire to set the curve, and to redouble my commitment to becoming a smarter gambler this year through hard work and study. The best way to shake off the doldrums is with a hefty winning streak, and those aren't handed out like food stamps, rather earned with the sweat of your brow and the wearing off of letters on your keyboard.

If you're burnt out right now, you must be getting buried.
