Dude plays every LA Liga game and all the other tournaments and international games throughout the year and does it for 90+ minutes outside and dominates everyone. How could it even be argued? Soccer players are great athletes no doubt. But if your comparing just raw athletic ability between soccer and basketball, it's not close. You have to be athletic in every area to be an elite level basketball player like Lebron James. You must have top level endurance as well as being lightning quick. You must have upper and lower body strength to deal with the contact inside. You have to have exceptional hand eye coordination to be able to catch, pass, dribble and shoot. It takes more athletic ability to actually catch a ball and dribble than just redirecting it and kicking in front of you like in soccer. Now I'm not saying it's easy to control passes in soccer, because it's not....I'm just saying you have to be much more accurate to shoot a ball in a tiny cylinder compared to a huge soccer net. If you took a person who has never played either sport ever in their life, they would pick up soccer much much quicker than they would basketball. They would not be able to dribble and no way would they be able to shoot accurately. I would bet anything a complete amateur can kick a soccer ball through cones and score a goal way quicker then they could dribble a basketball through cones and make a jump shot. You have to be laterally quick as well as st8 line quick in basketball. Soccer is pretty much st8 forward and diagonals. In basketball you must play defense laterally. Jumping ability is also much more important in basketball than soccer. If the United States had all our greatest athletes play soccer their entire lives, the US soccer team would look a lot more like the backcourt of an nba team than what they look like now.
