#2Yep...I learned the same thing.
Let me save you from making a mistake...fk Atlantic City. If you're gonna do it, just always do it Vegas. Atl City blows, plus throw in no sportsbooks. But everything else about it sucks. It's not even safe to be outside anywhere once it gets dark. All the employees stress that to everyone.
And the hotels are EXPENSIVE. gay.Comment -

#3I have been to both. I used to go to AC two or three times a week when I was in NYC. Bread is right. It is not safe outside of the casinos after dark. Granted, they have cleaned it up lately, but the surrounding areas of AC are trash. Considering there are more hotels and casinos in Vegas than in AC, I think that is where the price differential comes into play. Vegas Baby Vegas all the way!!Comment -

#4Thanks for the heads up Bread, I fvckin hate jersey anyways my boy Jrich went and dropped $700 playing blackjack one night there with his brother from like 2am-8am, only a 3 and half hour drive as opposed to like a 7 hr flight is the only advantage, and your right about no sportsbooks that blows. As far as the not being safe part thats NJ for yah place is shitty, spent more time then I'd like there, was in Camden for 30 minutes one time and that is the least safe I have ever felt anywhere in my life I'm sure Atlantic City is better than that but not niceComment -

The airport is on the other side of the planet from downtown, hard to get a car service. The air fare is so expensive because the airport is too small, is only serviced by a couple of airlines and the airport charges some really hefty gate fees.
Get this, there is no direct railroad from New York City to Atlantic City. Can you believe that?
The hotels are mostly rundown.
The hookers are oogly.
The weather is terrible most of the year.
I don't know where you live but Vegas, Bermuda, or the Caribbean are better choices.Comment -

#14I live just outside of DC and this really was the only reason I considered AC in the first place, its a day trip 197 miles basically 3-3 1/2 hours as opposed to a long ass flight but seems its still not worth it from all the reports from you all thanks for the heads upComment -

#23NJ is not too hard to figure out JJ has decent areas and really shitty areas, was in Cherry Hill recently its not too bad but Camden is right up the street basically and Philly is close too, I just don't see NJ as having any really nice areas like most places its either ridiculously shitty or decent and livable but not nice or specialComment -

TopGame, there are some VERY nice places in NJ. It is called the Garden State for a reason. Granted there are places not so nice, but their are not many states that can claim beachfront land, farmland, city life, gambling, and major sports teams all in one state. I lived in Bergen County, and I have to admit, if I had the $$ to live there again, I would. Still doesn't change my opinion on the outskirts of AC though.Comment -

#25AC is ok for us in the Northeast.
Once you go one time, they will offer you free stuff.
When I go, I get free rooms, cash, and food, plus gifts. Cant beat it!Comment -
