Peyton Manning wasn't lights out in the playoffs but you know what, Tony Dungy doesn't get 1/16th the venom that Manning gets and the guy couldn't win in Tampa and got run out of town and he couldn't win in Indy. If Peyton is a chock artist then Dungy is Marty Schottenheimer X10. I've never seen a guy lose outright in some many games he was a home favorite of 7+ on.

He's probably the worst X's and O's head coach of all time. All these other guys get to the playoffs and use these customized game plans, Tony Cancer Patient ran Cover 2 cover 2 cover 2 no matter what. That didn't confuse anybody. No element of surprise, no creativity, a monkey could have called the defense for the Bucs. Coach could have called the entire defense on Friday and skipped the game. He just stood on the sideline with his dumb look on his face and let Peyton take all the heat. Then when the Colts win we had to get educated on how great of a coach he was.

there was no bad luck in the 03 and 04 playoff losses. they just lost to the better overall team... but, the Pats back then did get away with holding and pass interference at times before refs enforced the rules like they do now. Pats did same thing to the Rams in the Super Bowl, it was Belichick's "answer" to stopping high powered offenses.

It's been every year since 04 besides 06 w/injuries, bad luck, etc... and a Vanderjagt shank in a 2000 playoff game. 99 was his first ever playoff game lost to team who went to the SB and in 2002 it was Dungy's first year they snuck into the Wild Card and weren't ready to be a competitive playoff team that year.

In 2006 PM also led Indy to 32 points in the 2nd half vs NE in the real SB that year. So much for not being clutch. NE had homefield every other time they met cause they could coast with the Jets, fish, and bills in their division.

Peyton could have scored more points and faster but whenever he scored fast the other team would just rip though Dungy's defense like a warm knife through butter. Teams started running ball control and that defense would wear down.

Peyton is playing other teams with defenses like the Steelers or Patriots and he had to do it all by himself. He was pressured to be perfect. Yeah he had a stinker or two but his coach was a lazy guy running the most basic scheme in football.

If the Steelers make big plays they can win but they can't just move the ball and win. The running game and short/mid range passes aren't doing anything. It's Big Ben making downfield throws to Brown/Saunders or lose.

If it is a boring grind it out 2nd half, or if there aren't really big plays, Cincinnati will win with drives and more talent.

Fair enough....this Colts fan wants to see 19-0 this year and his 5th MVP. It never hurts to dream a little now and then. If Denver wins the SB with whatever record then he's the first QB to win a SB with 2 diff teams.

Payton didn't like getting hit and the 3-4 gave him fits. All you have to do is watch his struggles versus the old NE D, Pitt and SD in the playoffs and see how when he gets happy feet he is not the same. The league has changed so he won't run into that problem this year. If you want to say Dungy deserves some blame that is fine but anybody who isn't in denial realizes when Manning puts up 3 points in one game and throws 4 Int's in another games he definitely shoulders a huge part of the blame as well.
