Piranhas are monsters.

I had a 75 gallon tank for a few years and had 2 of those bad boys. They would eat 1 Mcdonalds double cheeseburger a day each and it would be gone in seconds. The fish went from 2 inches to 7-8 inches within six months and I had to kill and dispose because they were trying to crack the tank and were going to get up to about 12-15 inches soon.

I had these things in high school. One time I bought 3 of them. They were cool for awhile then one day I came home and one of them was devoured. Just the head and tail were left connected by a bone. A few months later the same thing happened until I had one. I then bought a snake like fish called a wolf fish and they respected each other. When I went away to college my mom killed them because she didn't want to take care of them.

Live fish get shipped overnight in bags filled up w/ oxygen from a tank cushioned tightly in a styrofoam box. For this time of year, 48 hour heat packs would be used, in the summer cool packs are used in the box.

I have had them for the last 20 years. I have 3 very nice ones in my tank now. They are not what people think and a lot of people have them. They are legal in a lot of states. I love mine though.. If anyone wants pics let me know.. I am really into them, lots of different species of them, I am more into the Serra more than the Pygo family.
