I read the first couple of posts in this thread and I have mixed feelings about Barney Frank. Yeah he is the one guy tring to get some form of internet gaming for us, but his is also a key player who fuked up the economy.

Another note, if I make money that I had to take a chance on making as far as the law goes, the government can suck it before I will pay any tax on that money. Really. I will move to costa rica with all the other tax evading SBR crew. I can still trade the stock market from there, and it is probably 50 degress warmer right now.

my impression of gambling commission and the like is pretty negative. It seems that their only interest is in collecting higher taxes, with no real regard for players. They're also often heavy handed, ignorant ****s.
So losturmarbles brings up a legitimate question. Will regulation and taxation ruin the good opportunities we still get online?

Furthermore, taxes on gambling winnings is a bunch of shit. Casino pays taxes on $ it gets from players. Then some schmo actually gets lucky enough to beat the odds and comes out ahead for a year... more taxes. What about all the years he lost? Thankfully, some countries don't tax gambling winnings. But the US doesn't have that much class.

Maybe, getting these pricks involved with online gambling isn't such a good idea.
