Ideas/Plans for a NASCAR contest

I'd be far more interested if you picked one book's driver matchups to post for each race and let everybody make a maximum of either two or three matchups to bet. Make sure it's a big prize too since it's a long season and I want to be compensated well for my skill.

Nascar skins, Everybody gets to pick 1 or 2 drivers a week to win that weeks race. You pick right and win all or a portion of that weeks money. If no one chooses right that weeks money is added to next weeks pot, and so on.

hawk5 that could be the worst idea that i have ever heard for a nascar pool. are you kidding me 2 drivers everyone is going to pick johnson/edwards/busch every time they won 24 races out of 36. there will be so many spilt pots and hardly any careovers. I think the best type of pool for nascar is to pick a different driver every week for the first 18 races

General, I'd recommend you divide the drivers into 4-5 tiers, maybe Edwards, Johnson, Biffle and a few others in Group 1, Burton, Gordon and others in Group 2, and so on. And your 'driver team' be one from each group. We did this for one contest last year (link).

I'd prefer a format that made use of the available lines/odds on each race. What's being described with teams of drivers is indistinguishable from Fantasy NASCAR which I already participate in with my friends for a cash prize. If we're going to have a NASCAR contest on a gambling forum, I don't think it's unreasonable to incorporate elements of money management and the available wagering options into the format. Then it's not competing with other players of Fantasy NASCAR for their attention.

I have done this group method before, with the addition that out of each group you can only each driver a certain amount of times over the course of the season.

NASCAR Golf pick 1 or 2 drivers each week whatever spot he finishes in you get that many points however a win is worth zero points. Low score wins could have the contest run monthly and have rule can only use a driver 1 time for the month.

Another one is NASCAR last man standing you pick one driver each week he needs to finish in the top 22 of the 43 car field or your out and can only use a driver once

And bonus points to any driver that makes a right hand turn during the race

I never even thought about that. A "Carnage" competition might be fun, but more than likely it would just measure luck and not handicapping skill.

Have to have some kind of driver limit. Now I'm Liking the last man standing idea.

Ok 1 more try, You can only take a driver no more than 3 times for the 1st 26 races. If 1 or 2 people pick the winner in any given week they or he wins the pot. If 3 or more people tie the pot moves to the next weeks race. Have to figure out what to do the last 10 races in case no winners.
