I remember calling Jack Murphy Stadium (at 1am east coast time) so I could get an update on a Padres/Giants game. The girl who worked there told me "Don't worry. People do it all the time."

    Those were the days.

LOL Yeah. The girl at the office there told me they just gave her a broken bat from Tony Gwynn. "Do you want it???"

All you had in the old days was Score Phone.

That is awesome. I've never heard of people calling the stadium for a score.

I knew some older guys who would call team offices directly. They would give a local beat writer's name and ask about injuries and what not.
