The Cubs Look Like Live Dogs Friday
+161 at 5 Dimes for me. I get that Cubs blow, but they seem to be enjoying the spoiler thing, taking two out of three from the Reds before losing 3-1 here in Pittsburgh last night. Believe it or not, these teams are averaging about the same amount of runs per game overall (Cubs 3.88, Pirates 3.91) and both are batting only .239 vs. righties this year. The difference obviously is that the Pirates have had the superior pitching, but Charlie Morton injured his foot in his last start while getting lit up for five earned runs on six hits plus two walks in only 1.2 innings by the Cardinals, and he has not pitched well against the Cubs. Meanwhile Chicago starter Jake Arrieta has improved a bit since moving to the weaker National League from Baltimore. And even the great Pittsburgh bullpen is slumping as of late. More here

And in the middle of that he allowed one run on three hits in 6.2 vs. Phillies. He has been inconsistent for sure, but that is entirely because of walks as he is actually allowing a .178 batting average in the National League.

how many of those starts included Arrieta pitching and the Pirates current lineup?

                  99% of trends mislead

but hey Eddings behind the plate!!!

Over is 6-2-1 in Eddings' last 9 Friday games behind home plate.

                              hey LT,
You seem to be spot on on these special plays. Maybe you should should go to one or two picks a night. Just a thought for next season.
