I have never been able to give a flying crap about Bruce Stringbean - and after the halftime show, I still don't.

The only interesting thing about the E-Street band to me is the guy that played Sil on the Sopranos. Good character and Steve Van Zandt did a respectable job. I always feel embarrassed for him when I watch him perform music though.

Oh, but I'd like to see some kind of reverse angle on when Brucie did that running, sliding-on-his-knees thing into the camera. That cracked up the whole room where I was.

I am not a Springsteen "fan", but I think you would have to be living in a cave not to know 3 of the 4 songs he played. That said, he was much better than half of the Super Bowl performers in my lifetime (33 years). I know he wasn't the best, and maybe they could have gotten someone more relevant, but honestly, when has that ever happened? Super Bowls are notorious for giving us a performer past his prime playing hits 15-20 years old. At least Springsteen had a new song out (in the movie "The Wrestler"). For what they asked him to do, he did it. He sang well, ran around, and for all intents of purposes rocked. Anyone complaining about his performance needs to ask themselves "who has done a better job at the Super Bowl Halftime show the last 20 years"? I can think of one maybe two...Prince and MAYBE U2. That's all.

Okay I'll grant that. It was some righteous cowbell.
