YOUR SPREADSHEET: the data you track?
I'm refining the SBR spreadsheet as it would be great if it had a little more info.

    Columns:

    Date**Day**League**Term**Type**Bet**F/D**O/U**Price** ...

    ... continued Risk**Reward**W/L/P**Balance**Result ...

    ... continued Differential

I'll post a picture of this in a bit.

the above post looks like shit. but the pic will clear it up.

The main positives will be as follows.

    Sorting:

    1. Date
    2. Day (hitting 58% on Sat as opposed to 52% on Sun, etc)
    3. League
    4. Term (FT, 1h, 2h, etc, etc)
    5. Type (Side, total, money line, prop)
    6. Bet
    7. Fave or Dog
    8. Over or Under
    9. Price
    10. Risk
    11. Reward
    12. Win Loss Push
    13. Balance
    14. Result ... 27-23, 124-100, etc
    15. Differential .... -3.0, -2.5, +40.5 on the cover, etc

The Differential will probably be the most telling tidbit of data. Sorting this info in terms of margin of cover..

For example, just looking at some recent picks from my sheet.... the highest or best cover margin was 41.5 pts to the good. This tips off for future trends for this team and etc.

A sorted list of double-digit covers will indicate potential ripe bitches in the future

Too much work for my liking...this would take too much effort for me to do everyday. As it is I always find myself short on time.

actually, I know it seems like a lot .. but it's not really. It's filling in one line of data after you make your wager. It takes 20 seconds.

you should be tracking your picks and the results anyways. it's the same as filling out the SBR spreadsheet, except there are 5 or 6 extra columns.

In the Dog/Fave column you put 'D' or 'F'... in the Over/Under column you put 'O' or 'U'.

Then in the future you can sort by Faves and Dogs.... and then you sort these again by degree of pts covered by.

Once the picture is up, you'll see.

Milf I entered well over 700 plays last month with some days in the 70's...that would add quite a bit of time if you ask me.

We will have an auto input and grading method very soon. It will be a good option for guys that just want to click their pick and possibly enter the amt.

                  Good stuff, Bill.

Dio, I see what you're saying. I didn't know you're doing such high volume.

I'm looking to move towards less is more. For example, maybe something like 25 picks a month.

                  14-11 record... 56%

avg price of -110 (which is shitty ... will improve this with better books in near future)

                  +4200 @ 300 ..... 330 to win 300
                  -3630 @ 330

                  profit of $570.

just something simple like that. if the performance is good and can hit higher, just up the amounts.

                  $550/$500 ... would be $7000/$6050 ... = +$950 for the month

And with books that will give me better than -110 pricing, there will be a huge difference in the long term in profit.

I'm pretty certain I can go 14-11 per month

                    14-11 record @ -105 avg .... $525/500

                    $7000/$5775 ... = + $1,225

that's a difference of $275 a month .... or nearly 29% more profit... just off a better price of -105 instead of -110.

tremendous area I need to improve upon

Yeah I hear ya Milf...nice overall tracking tool. I need to tone down the # of bets for sure....something to work on in the future if I ever want to bet bigger than I do now.

                        May be useful to add:

                        - leans
                        - offers (to be changed into plays when offer is met; for exchanges).

                          WOW!!

I must of missed that yesterday

Miller I hear you but many guys just do not want to track everything, it sure helps to see strengths and weaknesses but you will see over time everything balances out. You might do well with NBA 1st halves the 1st year or so and then get hammered with them and so on...its all relative.

I think what it comes down to is your overall weekly, monthly and yearly $$$totals
