Top 5 NFL BTP Picks (Week 1)
We all know, as a whole, SBR is far from sharp. So, I'm looking at the top picks in Beat the Prick this week and wondering which one (or three) goes down in flames?

    #5 New Orleans (-3) - 77 picks
    #4 Washington (-3) - 78 picks
    #3 Cleveland (-1) - 91 picks
    #2 Houston (-3.5) - 115 picks
    #1 Tampa Bay (-3) - 148 picks!

Do the Jets pull of the miraculous and actually win with Geno Smith at the helm? Does Mike Wallace start earning his pay in Miami? Does RGIII's leg fall off in the 1st half? Does Sean Payton's return to the sideline inspire the Saints? Does a new coach make Philip Rivers receivers any better?

Overall, what is the record on these games? Which teams play spoiler?

Tampa Bay will probably be the one that loses.

                Tampa Bay 88%
                Houston 85%
                Cleveland 78%
                Indianapolis 77%
                Kansas City 75%

These probably go 2-3 at best. Would seriously be shocked if they go 4-1 or 5-0.

and the only reason the seahawks aren't on the list is cuz the prick was sharp enough to take the panthers at 3.5

my guess is Cleveland as Its my X2 pick. last year over all i was a bit above 50% over all, but only 30% on my X2 picks. a had several 3-2/4-1 weeks last year that went down in flames beacuse of it.

Not a good start, SBR. Plenty of people will argue Tampa Bay was a bad beat, but them getting the win just shows the ineptitude of the Jets' defense. Better cross your fingers the Chargers are as bad as everyone is saying, because the theme of the day is "faves win, but don't cover".

Though at no point in the 2nd half was TB covering, so it wasn't really a bad beat - on the plus side i went 4-1 with my only loss being my X2 pick in cleveland

You got the Saints one backwards. I got screwed on that game.

Backwards because you were giving hypotheticals for the picks to lose and then you gave one for the Saints to win. It's supposed to be how the Falcons could cover and knock off a popular pick.

I thought that's what you were referring to. Perhaps it's the reason they didn't cover?

                                            dunno

BTP players are actually doing better than the participants of the Hilton stale lines contest

BTP players are actually doing better than the participants of the Hilton stale lines contest

                                              Record of contestants:

                                              39.27% win pct, 1437-2222-403
In fairness BTP also get to choose from college games too; but still sub 40% picking games after putting up that kind of money is pretty bad.
