    Mariners / Royals Under 8
Seattle's 21-year-old Taijuan Walker comes highly touted and with good reason. He looked poised in his Major League debut last week allowing only an unearned run and two hits in five innings while getting the win, even though it was against the Astros. Still, the kid throws his fastball consistently between 94-96 MPH, has a great 92 MPH cutter and has an above average curveball, Scouts gush at how much his control and mechanics have improved just since last year, and his athleticism was never an issue.

Ervin Santana has had a nice bounce=back season for the Royals after struggling with the Angels the last few years and he deserves better than an 8-8 record with his 3.19 ERA and nice 1.14 WHIP. His 3.59 xFIP and 2.8 WAR are fine too and he has held his form well, allowing two earned runs or less in three of his last four starts. It helps to face a Seattle team batting .214 the last 10 games. The Royals are hitting well but their unfamiliarity with a potential future stud like Walker hurts.

LT: What do you think is the reason for your down year, this year? In the past, you have cleaned up on baseball, and you probably haven't deviated from your methods that much. What about the other sports like NBA, NFL, and NHL?

Also, what programming language do you use to create your model?

I am not alone, I heard horror stories even about the best baseball sharps this year as beating the closing line has meant close to nothing. Hopefully things improve next season.

Model codes were written in R (but not by me ) Guy is pretty prompt though about making recommended changes, but we only look at that stuff during off-season.

You are giving me too much credit. I don't have the power to re-instate anyone, edit other people's posts or give infractions.

Made up for it with Brewers. And even this game was only done in by one inning by Royals.

I think Lt plays too many games. When your model is not working its a mistake to continue making so many plays.

Could just be a down year, or the model needs a tune up? Either way its far too many plays
