This is the problem FBS teams run into when playing FCS teams, they think they should blow the team out and are far superior. They try to win the game by 40 points and get style points, instead of playing to win. Therefore they take gambles like that thinking that their superior size/strength will prevail, instead of sticking to a game plan to win by one point.
