New York Jets/New England Patriots Under 43 BookMaker (-110)

Just a 1u play here. Supposed to be rainy, I can't see anything other than an ugly game here. Brady lacking weapons, Geno not sharp and rookies tend to struggle against Darth Hoody's defensive schemes. Lots of punts with some turnovers. Not touching the spread, total is the only play I can back.

Backing my boys in the rivalry game. Bye week to recover from that embarassing loss to UNI in Week 1. Running game is about even if not a slight advantage to ISU. I like ISU's QB a little better. Both defenses are garbage this season. Home field advantage big here in Ames. ISU definitely rebuilding defensively and this is the one game on the schedule they have to win.

Total scares me. I would think this is a high scoring game. Total keeps going down though. Seeing 45.5 and 46 down from 48. My lean is over as well.

Still hard to win on the road in the NFL. Peyton over-hyped after a 7 TD game that really wasn't that impressive, more telling of how bad the Ravens defense was. Broncos defense struggles to stop the pass and the Giants run game is better than the Broncos if they can limit the turnovers. Eli is always in the game and has a penchant for the dramatic comeback. Hopefully, this is an entertaining game.

Steelers dealing with too many key injuries. Cincy defense is for real up front and will limit Pittsburgh's hodge podge assortment of washed up and ineffective running backs by committee. Burfect is probable and looks to be playing for the Bengals. Conversely, Heath Miller is out again and the starting center, Pouncey, went down in Week 1 after shredding his knee. His replacement was so bad that they picked up a guy (Velasco) who lost his job as the Titans' Center after the preseason. Velasco faced a preseason Cinci defense and did not fare well. Ben should be under pressure and take his usual hits, not having Miller hurts him.

Not loving any of the sides on a pretty crappy Saturday card. Playing two unders here with a couple of solid defenses. I don't think Saban goes nuts and I actually think he keeps his boys under control in this one. Coming off an emotional, spotlight win against A&M and playing against a former OC I don't think Saban wants to run it up on them. A back to basics type game for Bama, get out early, play solid defense and make it a boring 4th quarter.

I also like Kansas' defense in this matchup. The days of the high flying LA Tech passing game are done. 3 games into the season and LA Tech is averaging more rushing yards than passing yards per game. LA Tech's QB Scotty Young is unproven this season and coming off a game where he went 9/28 for 108 yds. with no TD's and no INT's at home. I was impressed by Kansas' defense on the road against Rice. I see this as being a lot of running and a lot of time off the clock.
