INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A SWAT standoff ended peacefully after police say an armed robber held up a Dollar General on the east side. The robbery happened around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of North Mitthoeffer Road.
Authorities say after the teenage boy held up the store, he took off. Police were able to easily figure out where he went because they followed his tracks in the snow. Officers caught up with the teenager about a half mile later at the Lakeview Terrace Apartments.
The teen finally surrendered to authorities around midnight.
Investigators say he will also be questioned about the homicide that happened earlier this week.
"He's probably going to be questioned about that crime because it did happen at the same apartment complex where he was apprehended but we don't have any indication at this point that he's tied to that crime," said Sgt. Paul Thompson, IMPD.
On Sunday a teenage boy was shot in the head. He died Monday.
