I was looking at this yesterday. These are the rankings of the final 4 in the first 64 man tourney (this is after 4 rounds of play, the same number of rounds we've completed in our present tourney):

                  1. NEP Dynasty 21-19-1 +7.02
                  2. BeatTheJerk 20-21 +1.74
                  3. Golden Goat 19-22 -0.93
                  4. Gordon Gekko 17-23-1 -3.78

Only one of the final four had a winning record and he was only 2 games over .500. Granted the first tourney took place during baseball season and baseball can be harder to predict than basketball, imho. But, many people claim that it's the opposite so I'm not sure.

Anyway, there's no comparison between the performances after four rounds. We've really stepped it up big time. I don't believe in luck, I think the competition must be tougher or something. Any thoughts on the huge difference in performance between these two contests?

Is it baseball season v. basketball season?
                  Is it tougher competition?

Someone had to give Robyn the plays and it sure was not Bread
I do not know if she wins if a black market or asterisk will need to be put next to her name.

Continuing on what I just posted. Check out the average performances of the final four from the first 64 man tourney and the elite 8 from our current tourney. Again this is after the same number of rounds (four rounds):

First tourney average performance (rounded): 19-21 +1.01

Current tourney average performance (rounded): 21-12 +8.80

Someone's gonna tell me this huge difference is luck? Not in a million years. What's going on?

It's tougher competition showing up to try and earn more money. That makes sense.

don't get me wrong 1k is nice but for most who play they don't make much. Should feel better to beat 127 posters than any money, plus it would be interesting to see how much of this contest money is ever withdrawn from these books. I think rtj got the biggest 1st place in any contest. Be curious if he ever saw any of it?

MartinBlank said he made the final four in the last contest. He had $75 in contest winnings in one account and he turned it into over $1000 and he cashed it out with no problems.
