Stay away from this one. Suns have been the picture of inconsistency recently. No way of knowing which Suns team shows up.

The Suns are in the middle of an identity crisis. That means that even if they are strongly motivated it may not translate into winning basketball. The Spurs have had the Suns number even when the Suns are firing on all cylinders. Not so for this game.
On top of that, the Suns may not really object to a big loss, because several players would be glad to see Porter gone...Comment -

i wish the suns would get rid of steve nash(too many turnovers) and amare(too many turnovers). they both suck defensively, nash can only take charges, stoudamire can't even do that. stoudamire can't even rebound; and yet he wants to be on the same levels as kobe,lebron,kg,camby, sasha vucajic of the lakers can guard amare.i am a huge suns fan before the porter era, but i like the direction they are going in, i like these players on the sun's squad: barbosa, almunson,dudley,shaq, hill, . they need to buy a pure 3 point shooter...(not jrich or bell), someone like sasha vucacic or radmanovic. i won't bet on this game, but i am leaning towards a san antonio win on this won because the suns can not play man to man defense, they will get lost in screens and a jumpshooter will ALWAYS BE OPEN , finley parker mason manu, too nasty for the suns.

Looking more closely. Since Christmas the Suns have beaten two teams with a winning record. lol. (Dallas, Atlanta twice).
Just in January they've lost to:
at home: Indiana, Minnesota
on road: Denver, Boston, New York, Charlotte.
They were blown out by Boston and Charlotte. If you saw the game against Charlotte you could have sworn that Nash was throwing that game. Their current two game winning streak came against a very low-energy Atlanta team, and against Washington.
Meanwhile the Spurs are solid as ever and on a 15-4 SU run.Comment -

This is a rivalry game. Spurs should be ready. It will come down to execution, and Spurs are way ahead in that area right now. Their core has been together forever. Suns have changed everyone around Nash, except for Amare, who's played without conviction recently.

Phoenix sports just a 6-14 spread mark at home this year, and overall, the Suns are a money-burning 15-27-1 against the math. San Antonio is 13-7 straight up on the road this year, and 11-9 against the spread on the highway, and they did win as the road dog in Phoenix on Christmas day on a last second buzzer-beater 3-ball by Roger Mason. The road dog has won outright in both series meetings this year, and is on a 6-2-1 spread run the last 9 series meetings, playoffs included.
