Maybe just because both had today as scheduled travel days and it was easier to play 2 on tuesday then redo both teams travel schedules and get the stadium ready?

baseball players HATE giving up their "off days"..........former players always say that, since there are so few off days, players schedule things days, weeks, in advance on those days.

guess players rather play a double header

I thought there was a rainout earlier in the year...maybe I'm mistaken but i can remember being pissed earlier this year cuz i came home to watch the jays game and it was PPD

Exactly. Just wondering why this thread had me so confused like they had 2 games for the shits and giggles of it. Toronto is feeling that confident we are going to go on a 6 game run in a day hahaha!!!!

Ya thought there was a rainout. From my recollection, it was a day game that was pushed back too soon IMO, the weather cleared if I remember correctly but they called it before it started.

I think the reason is because if they made up the game Monday, then both teams would play 21 straight days without a day off. There is a limit on the number of consecutive days you can play without a day off per the collective bargaining agreement, although I am not sure what the limit is.

I'm pretty sure teams have done more than 21 without a day off in the last few seasons.
