Anyone here eat alot of hot dogs and once in awhile you say you will never eat them again because you aren't sure what's in them? The Bar-s big sellers at Wal Mart are cheap and tasty and according to the label are made of meat all be it muscular meat and fat. Some labels actually list,hearts,kidneys,lips.etc.I think alot of name brand beef and pepperoni snack sticks say beef lips right on the ingredients. Not sure what lips they are referring to either.Slim Jim's list crap organ meat on their ingredients list and it's amazing people eat major brand items like that who use inferior crap ingredients.

I hear that at dog food plants they use road kill dogs and cats even and use cattle they call downers that were dead in the field of natural causes or accidents for extended periods of time. Now with this peanut butter warning it's saying not to feed your dogs peanut butter dog biscuits.I'm the last person to go along with not thinking something is worthy to eat but with healthy dogs you can tell when they get a hold of a bad biscuit or treat stick because they get damn sick for a day or two.

So,has anyone ever worked in one of these plants that can say what actually takes place there? Then with the better hot dogs that they sell at games and such, are they made with much better cuts of meat like they proclaim?

I only eat Kosher (Hebrew National) hot dogs for some of the reasons you listed above - and I'm not Jewish. At least with the Kosher stamp you have some sort of assurance that they aren't using "lips and assholes" or sick animals in the hot dogs.

Don't have any stories for you Brent, sorry. But this did pique my curiosity as to just how many posters here have even processed their own meat. I'd be willing to bet that a lot of the McCrap-eating crowd would never be able to do it, slaughter and process an animal for their freezer.

Underscoring the argument that man is not really a meat-eater. There is never a general distaste for what is natural.
