OT: What genres of music do you folks enjoy around here?
    Personally I'm a metalhead / hardcore guy.

    Metallica
    Lamb of God
    All That Remains
    Judas Priest

But I also love some rappers

    Lil' Wayne
    Dr. Dre
    Immortal Technique
    T.I.

Hey Ryan! As for myself, I like classical music including chants and chorus as well, but, I do enjoy oldies whatever the genre may be (60's to late 80's) and more recently speed metal such as Dragonforce.

Dragonforce is a very fun band live and incredibly talented when it comes to playing fast and high-technique tunes. My only gripe with them is that I can only handle listening to them every once in a long while because all their stuff is SOOOOOOO fast lol.

What do you mean by classical music/chants?

Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Tchaikovski, etc... and by chants I mean Gregorian chants.

Rap music from like 1985 to 2002, this is when it actually had meaning, tupac actually had stuff to say, dmx had stuff to say the older rap had soul and meaning. this is coming from someone who is 19, todays rap is garbage.

1990's " eternally in my mission is to be more than just a rap musician, the elevation of today's generation if i could make them listen, prison aint what we need, no longer stuck in greed, its time to plan and strategize my family's gotta eat"

today: " fvck a bitch and some clothes i gotta get rich i get stupid dumb hyphy ***** and i treat my bitch like a atm card"

It is sad indeed, most youngsters here in CR listen to his genre reggaeton, they're like 12 and go "singing" or listening shit about how big "x" girl's cvnt is or how to fvck a girl in a club. Stupid shit man. And that's all about it.

I'm with you when it comes to the content and lyrics of the older material but I still enjoy modern rap.

Exactly, there's some things kids shouldn't be exposed as to such things, it wouldn't do them any good to know how to do cocaine or how the singer fvucked that girl last night (reggaeton).

it was quite the experience , my third eye was opened after 12 jack/cokes, 2 hits of blotter, and a smidgen of peyote.
                                                        the lasers helped also.

I listen to Alt. rock (Muse, Dave Lowery, Foo Fighters) to Gilbert and Sullivan and a whole lotta stuff in between.

Currently in my CD player: Steely Dan, The Royal Scam. That would definitely be on my top 5 all-time list.
