I wish I could say I never opened a bible but I know I have. As a child, I was subject to dopey adult influences like any other kid. It takes time to learn to think for yourself. Of course many people never do.

But yes, I know I have opened a bible. My recollection is that I found it less-than-enthralling.

How long did it take? I don't think I could do it unless I was serving an extended prison sentence or something.

The Bible (NT) is written in metaphysical code. People who interpret it without that inner understanding have made a farce of Christianity. There are a few saints, though, like Padre Pio, that show the potential.

I've studied some of the Bible, but from the perspective of similarities with the Hindu Bhagavad Gita. The latter is older and far more scientific, yet still contains a level of mysticism that will confuse those without inner sight.

The key to any religion is interiorization of consciousness. It is not an outer exploit to win souls. But rather an inner exploit to uncover one's own soul. People from the first group want to talk about nothing else; people from the, smaller, second group are very quiet about it.
