A friend of mine was able to get a letter to the editor in "Sport" magazine that got published the month after Portland took Bowie. He proclaimed how brilliant Portland was for taking Bowie over Jordan and would be justified years from now.
We haven't let my friend forget about it to this day.

Low risk. High reward.
Playing with the Heat, he can come along slower. No need for big minutes early in the season, and can come along slow, to help lower the risk of re-injury. Giving the Heat more size, and help on the boards where they struggle.

if he can give them 10-15 mins early and eventually 20-25 mins he gives them rebounding and the big man they need when facing the bulls, pacers and any big west conf team. the one area the heat can always improve is rebounding due to lack of size and for a million a year to take a chance on a center who can give them a potential double double if healthy is def worth it, esp considering they are a 2 time championship team roster already and resigned the birdman.Comment -
