Assist. mgr.at Target told me there is a huge increase in people falling on ice suing
Barrelled in and have no pride, take a fall on the ice at Target and file suit.Pride goes before the fall if you are barrelled in.I just got back from the local Target store and asked a guy I went to school with that's the assistant manager as to why in the hell there seems to be triple the salt used on the ice in the parking lot and entry ways.He said it's because the Target store chain in northern climates this winter has had an alarming number of people supposedly slipping on the proprties and filing personal injury suits.Sure,it's been a bad winter with cold and ice but I guess even figured into the odds it's very suspicious. It seems like things are getting so bad that it's coming down to stunts like falling on your ass to make a living. Then you have people shoveling snow at home breaking a leg or cracking up skiing or snowmobiling and they get in their car to fake a fall that caused their injury at Target.

I think it's a slam dunk to get a settlement if you have never filed an injury suit before. Then the chiropractors are more than happy to even get a fakers business where you can get a claim signed by him or her. How's a chiropractor supposed to know if you are really injured,it's not an exact science at all.

So if anyone really had a bad season of betting after the Super Bowl, you can always take a dive at Target and get reimbursed.hehe! The irony might come in the form of faking an injury and then going to a quack chiropractor where he works on you and screws your back up for life.

The sick part is that they have lawyers that only handle department store law suits like this.

The corporate policy is known as a "scorched earth litigation strategy." Spend 100k litigating a 30k simple negligence claim to prevent 20 more 30k claims.

Well kind of. If you win you always get 2/3, lawyers who work these negligence cases usually work on contingencies (get 1/3 only if the client wins).

But the corp. makes it expensive for the attorney to win the case by hiring ice experts, falling trajectory consultants, etc. etc. But the deterrent effect of a corp. willing to spend $50 for each $1 sought in recovery is pretty effective.
