This should be a great game, and I am leaning heavily on the Huskies, the ONLY thing that keeps me from firing on it is the home win streak as well as the conference home win streak, with that said, I did a little reading into it to see what type of top tier competition was involved in this 45 game streak...40 of these teams weren't close to being ranked...The Irish have won all 41 games at the Joyce Center since Harangody arrived, and have won 45 straight there since falling 80-72 to Marquette on Feb. 25, 2006.
Despite the impressive streak, they’ve played only five ranked opponents during that stretch and only two top 10 teams. Notre Dame beat then-No. 9 Georgetown on Jan. 5, when Harangody had 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting in a 73-67 victory.
UConn, however, looks like it’ll be the toughest test yet as the Irish try for a Big East-record 21st straight home conference win. Coach Jim Calhoun’s squad is the highest-ranked team to play at Notre Dame since No. 1 Duke in 1998.
The Huskies (17-1, 6-1) are the only team in the country with five wins over Top 25

Uconn has benefitted from prob the easiest Big East conference schedule up to this point by FAR...

Thabeet usually has non-existent type games against ND and physical teams... and Harangody does well against them Uconn typically....

but I think it will come down to how the gaurds play, and how McAlarney is shooting today.... and you can't really cap a streak shooter's probability of being hot or cold

this will be the difference in the game one way or the other. ND is at their best when the 3 ball is falling, because it gives Harangody room to work with underneath.

right on, don't forget the uconn guards can swarm the 3 ball..i don't see nd being successfull from beyong the arc..and w/out the 3 ball, they can't win

I remember Padgett struggling big time with Thabeet last year and I think Gody will experience the same problems. He'll force Harangody to shoot jump shots and I dont see Gody killing UConn from outside. Without him, Notre Dame struggles against just about everybody.

also, when a streak is this big, and televised and hyped by espn all day, the team it affects more is the Irish...plus Harangody is white, so, we have that going for us.

the question is can the other front court players deal with thabeet...

Thabeet is really over rated imo... especially when he plays teams with real talent, and real big men...

but he does alter shots, and that doesn't show up in the stat sheet.
