#3it has always baffled me how those shitty pirates take over those huge vessels. those rag-tag pirates have little speed boats and a few machine guns. Give those people on those ships/vessels some firepower and they would never get hi-jacked, fu*k they are on huge ships that are much taller and made of steel. Just mow down and snipe those fu*ckers off from above, hell they have the angle and the cover, those pirates ain't got nothing and are exposed sitting in those little boats.Comment -

#6i think the US, europeans and asia should just make a pact on how to divy up the african continent. that way, each country's own military has the duty to kill all the insurgents. divide and conquerComment -

#7Getting on the water is dangerous closer to home too. Pirates have been taking down pleasure boats in Mexico and Caribbean for years. Put million dollars boats in reach of the poor and this is bound to happen.Comment -

1. Lawsuits. They are afraid that the crew will either mistakenly blow some tourists out of the water, or that any survivors of a pirate ship that attacks them and is blown out of the water will sue.
2. Bad publicity. Can't you just hear the political correctness, bleeding heart media interviewing the widow and children of a pirate that was blown to smithereens? (Where is smithereens anyway?)
3. Legal problems with the UN, US courts, World Court, you name it. Given how ****ed up the UN is, can't you just imagine some third world country bringing human rights violations or war crimes charges against a company that told its crew to "waste the mother ****ers" when the crew asked for instructions while under pirate attack?
Personally, I think these large, expensive vessels should be outfitted with the latest in radar, sonar, listening devices, infra red, thermal detection, guided missiles, laser guided canons, etc, etc so that unless you tried to attack them with a cruiser or a battleship they could blow your ass out of the water.
Then all the countries in the world that own such vessels should jointly announce a zero tolerance policy toward piracy. "If you attack one of our ships we will blast you mother ****ers out of the water, then we will turn the ship around and run over any survivors".
I'm pretty certain that piracy would be less of a nuisance if this was done.
But, in order to do this the companies that own these ships would need guarantees from the UN, EU, The Hague, etc, etc, that they were not going to be persecuted for defending themselves from pirates. And we know that the bleeding heart liberals that run these institutions are never going to agree to that.Comment -

#17funny u mention the UN
what a paper tiger, not even worth the building it is housed in
they just found that the thai military is pulling these boat people floating in from Bangladesh or some other shit hole (must be bad to want to risk it to go to thailand or malaysia) BACK OUT TO SEA !
of course almost all of them die, etc.
so now the UN intervened, wow, thailand is so worried - not - they keep doing it, going on for years nowComment -

But, I wouldn't just snipe at the pirates, I would want to also do things like put some chemical on the water, say right next to their boat, that burns very nicely when set on fire.
Hmmm, this sounds like a great business.Comment -

#21Originally posted by curiousAnd if you actually catch pirates in the act of raiding a commercial vessel, wait for them to claim it, then steal it from them and sell it back to the company that owns it under international salvage laws. I like it.

they do have rpgs though. so you need to keep a safe distance from them, but with nets and high powered sniper rifles, you should be able to kill them pretty easily.Comment -

Radar operator: "Sir, I see what appears to be a high speed motor boat approaching us, probably pirates, currently it is 23 miles away".
Captain: "Number 1 gun crew (16 inch guns with a range of 23.6 miles), please fire a few salvos at the approaching pirate ship".
Abdul (on pirate ship, talking on radio): "Well, Muhammed, in about thirty minutes we will be boa".
Muhammed: (listening to static) "Abdul, Abdul, are you there, I seem to have lost the signal. Abdul, Abdul"
Radar operator: "Pirate ship no longer approaching us sir. Perhaps the twenty four 16 inch, 1,800 pound shells that just slammed into their ship have something to do with the fact that they no longer show up on radar".
Captain: "Perhaps".Comment -

#24Originally posted by curiousYou can thank liberalism, political correctness, and lawyers. The big companies that own these ships are worried about:
