The strip is definitely where all the action is. However, it is a lot more expensive to live on it. If you can afford it, I say go for it if you're looking for constant excitement and energy...

Centennial, Arbor View, Shadow Ridge, Silverado, Green Valley, and Foothill are OK too.

Would not recommend Summerlin as it's the worst bang for your buck in town and is 20+ minutes to the strip.
