Truth is i'm gun shy right now. i cant handle losing, i always go full tilt the first time i lose.

Last week almost cost me my whole bankroll....

i went huge on a Corbin +Kershaw parlay and ofcourse the dodgers get shut out 3-0 against Rockies at home!!!

and so the next day i had to go huge on Twins to beat the Yankees just to get my money back...

shit was so stressful i havent made a bet since

My break is typically when the NBA playoffs are over... til the first game of NFL preseason. It's actually very relaxing. Everyone needs one.

I took a break for 4 days this past Monday thru thursday but you know why

I never take breaks unless nothing is on

When I go bust I find things to pawn.

My lawnmower is still in pawn and the grass needs mowed badly I need to win big today to get it out

I take breaks but never play those mental jerk off games with yourself by looking and the lines and choosing who you would have had. That's not taking a break. A nice break when you don't even pay attention to it for a few weeks or a month or two will always sharpen you up.

Some guys on here would consider 10am to 7pm within a day a break.

When I see myself in a 'loosing series' I take a few days off...
When I see myself in a 'have other money priorities' series I take a few weeks or months off...
When I see myself in a 'loosing sleep because of sport betting' I take a couple of months off...

The time off is really good to keep balance back, and avoid stupid 'all ins' after some loss.

This is pretty single minded, Easy. Not everyone can maintain a fresh mind throughout the daily/yearly grind. It's not "leaving money on the table" if you are burned out or if your opportunity cost for your dollars is significant.

I haven't made a bet in 6 weeks. And I feel amazing. Took my cashouts and reinvested them in other places. Sometimes you need to let your money work for you. If you work for your money the rest of your life you'll be losing hair too soon.

The whole approach that you gotta take a break can be alleviated in your approach to play. Far too many of us just can't walk away when there is nothing there. I may not play for days at a time if I go through two or three filters and nothing gets through.

If I can't get halfway down the flowchart on any day the balance of that day is probably better spent on the other side of the damn front door. That being said there are all lot of days you just drop everything because there is a ton of value, everything is in play and there is work to be had.

I got more gaps in my spreadsheet than I do In my grin. That is a fukkin pile of downtime or a lot of jello depends how you look at it. You don't have to play everyday.

Gaming is like a good shit. The less you force the more you get out of it.
