Explain the shaq you live in??? Willy if you did not gamble or did it "recreationally you would be living in a suburban or more urban/city type house and not a place where you have to sprint over 100 yards and freeze your fukkin balls off to take a shower or go to bathroom.

JJ, Onner, though I don't expect y'all to believe me -- After all, how could one trust someone like me who is somehow both a KKK grand wizard yet also sympathetic to Jews and gays? Think about it and discuss amongst yourselves. -- that little 'shaq' in the first video was a playhouse we built for kids about 10 years ago. The other 'shaq' that was off on the left in the video with the deer is my little workshed that contains my beer fridge and tools. But hey, if it helps some get through their sad little lives to think that I live in an 8x12 'shaq' without any running water or heat/air, I'm not about to get in the way. So carry on.

I'm a recreational bettor as well. Have no choice with a wife and kids to support. Can understand guys who are single to be a serious gambler, but to have a ton of money on a game would be too much to take if I lost.

I am as "recreational" as it gets.

I know I am not good enough at this to ever make a living at it. I also like my car and house entirely too much to ever put them at risk at such an iffy proposition.

I set aside 2K for each, and if at the end of a season I am up...I cash out. If I burn through my bankroll, time to play more golf.

I only wager on two sports.....College Football and College Hoops. I don't trust the NFL or NBA to wager on them.

Archie I was a recreational bettor and I swear I wish I videotaped what I am about to describe. I lost a lot to a bookmaker and did not have money to pay and they guy brought me up to roof of a building and dangled me over the fukkin ledge just holding my fukkin ankles and I was fukkin scared shit and thought I was going to die. Archie I thought I was a recreational bettor. Archie I am cared for you.

Yup same here. I bet small amounts and when I play games big this is usually a tiny amount to a "Non rec better". Would never risk that kind of money.

I am always amazed at the guys who post "all-in" bets..I just can't place my brain around that kind of action.

I am not cut out for that. Having every single thing riding on the outcome of a single game? No thanks.

I was reading the NCAA Hoops thread last night, and some guy bet 2K on a parlay. On a parlay.

He lost. Way too brave for me.

Yup agreed. Got lot of stuff going for me in real life. College, athletics, family, nice apartment, nice car, friends, all that good stuff. Cant risk all that. Just spending some extra cash.

Dont think Im compulsive today will be my first action for cash this week, but everyone starts Rec. I started about 8 years or so ago when I stumbled on a online book while In college. I thought why not I love sports have played sports all my life. I have a better feel than most and it was a challenge to beat the book. Now the biggest change is online is worse and more fragile than ever. So, by March Madness I plan on making picks from Vegas not from my computer.

I don't think i'll ever deal with a real live local though. But I'm not unaware that like any other common addictive past-time that gambling could take me over..so I try to exercise caution.

and thanks for your ending sentiments, I care for you too... you are kinda like the crazy uncle I never had...cuz my uncles are all pretty sane..
