    Governor Jesse V. Promotes BetUs
During a commercial break on ESPN radio today, there was a commerical with Governor Jesse Ventura promoting BetUs. I thought it was illegal to promote a gambling site in the US? What am I missing?

All we can hope for is that the feds are taking notes. This crooked sportsbook needs to be shut down. They have the same business model as BetOnSports. Take the players money, spend it on a massive ad campaign, drown out the stiff job complaints with bigger bonuses. They would collapse tomorrow if bettors cashed out. Do not send your money to these thieves.

I'd be leary of any online book that advertises on the radio or TV in the US...this is what led to the beginning of the end for BOS...the US govt. doesn't like things being rubbed in their face...

The feds will have to go after BetUS. They arrest a British CEO but Jesse Ventura can go around the USA as a paid spokesman promoting this crooked sportsbook? You're just asking for trouble.

No doubt they are the odds-on favorite to be "next". However, I would not expect them to rollover like BOS did.

Im still amazed that BOS rolled over so easy, maybe they just took the USA shutdown order as a green flag to screw over their customers.

I think that's exactly what they were waiting for LGboots, as the restraining order, said they needed to refund all of their customers...they weren't backed as well financially as everyone thought (please take head thinking the same thing about mansion guys, even though I think they're a great book), and this was the excuse they used to steal everyone's money...really a shame...could see betus heading down the same road...

yeah, rumor's are that BetUS may fight the authorities harder, but once the govt gets a hold of you, you are pretty much screwed...any lawyers they are paying, are being paid with by players' money, no doubt...

Same ads on 810 radio out of KC. This is big independent radio station that I have never heard gambling ads on before. I think they are insane.

They advertise on the ESPN Radio because there is absolutely nothing illegal about betting offshore, or advertising it, despite DOJ and US Gov't propaganda to the contrary. ESPN Radio has thoroughly researched this, and has received the OK from their legal staffs to do this. Sporting News Radio rolled over beause Paul Allen, the owner, also owns The Seahawks and didn't want to deal with the hassle, so he emptied out his pocket lint and paid 7 million in fines and that bogus PSA they run. I'm not advocating any one play at BetUS with their history, but I'm glad they are advertising and I wish more, and more reliable books would, to show how bogus the DOJ is.

BetUS would fold just as BetonSports would. They use players money to pay for their massive advertising campaign. If a run on the bank occurred, they would not be able to pay. So even if they stayed open, the word would be out.

BETUS.net is what is being advertised so they technically are not advertising a gambling site. Also I was surprised it is prounced Bet US and not bet us

That's what ESPN radio management believes. But unlike the Poker.net type commercials, where it's indicated in the body of the commercials that it's a non gambling site, if you listen to the body of the BetUS commercial, Jesse is saying if you need a place to put your football action in, and other such references to betting. I don't even think they have the non gambling site disclaimer. Personally, I'd love the gov't to try and go after them. I doubt ESPN backs down like Sporting News Radio did, and I think they would kick the gov't ass. This is a new advertising campaign that the ESPN radio stations around the country are involved in that just started for football season, and ESPN didn't go into this blindly or lightly. The only thing I could see shutting it down is if the NFL tried to strongarm them with the NFL ESPN TV package. But the dirty little secret is that the NFL is thrilled to have ESPN promote betting on their Monday Night games, NFL's public stance notwithstanding.
