It would be a major shake up in the sports world if teams had to move out of Detroit. Red Wings, Tigers, Lions. If the city goes bankrupt... and no one will help bail Detroit out. As a sports fan... why would you risk the safety of you and your family by watching them play in Detroit? If all you have are hood rats running around in broad daylight... could become a meltdown. I think this is more serious than people believe. It all depends on what kind of bankruptcy Detroit is filing? Even if Detroit's debt is cleared... can they still make revenue on city taxes? The housing market? Property taxes? I'm not so sure.

Suburbs of Detroit host one of the strongest middle classes in the country. Smart companies are finding this out. Many planning expansion to the Detroit burbs if not already there. A lot of people in middle class with homes paid off/ extra cash to burn
