NO mods not THAT kinda snatch get your head out da gutter...

    think Olympic weightlifting snatches...

just messing around in the gym when I shoulda been at my desk working after making the pullup vid.

attempted 1 hand snatch of 115 pounds....

turned into an unbalanced not quite locked out clean and jerk...
    I'll get the strength back..

crazy enough to try this shit Slicker? not a good thing for the back, don't try this at home..

will do at least 135-145 by april 15th

As for the video, impressive! But also insane.

Must respect to you but that could have been a disaster. Do you have a smaller length bar for that?

              Wow,

Just went and looked up some videos of this on youtube and there are diesel guys who look like they could rape you blind only doing 46-56kg which is in the ballpark of what you did Chi, great work. I've never done this myself but I'd be hardpressed if I could top that. My coordination with one arm lifts is horrendous. I'd be happy putting up 80lbs TBQH.

didn't know anyone was as dumb as me to try this kinda shit... I'll look it up... 56 kg's would be about 160-170?

I know I can get up to 150lbs...

you're right the bar is way too long, balance is the toughest part

good thing I have strong collars..

almost 20 years of lifting and doing crazy things and my first ever injury happened this june or july.... just repping out on bench presses... crazy..

with all the squats, jumping squats with 135 pounds, deadlifts, cleans, push presses, plyometrics off 4 foot boxes and other crazy crap I do... I hurt myself on a pussy lift like benches.... my arm/chest/shoulder get really sore and feel like its gonna rip from just doing some painting or shoveling...

                I can't get surgery though.

Oh yeah, my weightlifting maximums these days are two, 50-lb bags of feed on one shoulder and a 12-pack of Shiner Bock in the other hand. And at my age, I really don't snatch or jerk anything for fear of throwing something out of joint. Carry on and God bless.

Actually 56kg is only about 125lbs, you have before and will again surpass that. Not to gay up the joint but have you tried any yoga or something of that nature to help out your shoulders and chest?

That first guy has impressive strength and I would not fight him.

Hes lifting 225 but he easilllllllly weights 250lbs if not way more depending on his height.

Both these videos have confirmed for me again just how dangerous this lift is.

What esle would a dog be doing Archuleta? Not like it has a job or something it wants to watch on TV.

I just don't get the point of the pilates stuff. It's good to know you can put mind over matter, but just doesn't seem healthy at all with the no water, hold your pee if you have to go crap. If you're going to spend an hour sweating and torturing yourself, I've got some new post holes to dig this summer when it will be plenty hot. You can pee whenever you feel like it behind the big cedar on the hill, and I'll provide water while you're doing it and beer later. It'll build all the character you need.

i'm so naturally strong and strong from almost as many years as Ryan...lifting...I'm impervious....

seriously though, 5 years of competitive powerlifting with some olympic lifting training mixed in, I'm prob less likely to hurt my back...then some old fart with no core strength lifting a heavy bag of groceries... thanks for the concern though fellas
Where did you do this? Was this when you were out towards Philly? I'd be interested in doing a program such as this when I move back to Philly in September.

ryan I lived in the way other side of Pa northwestern pa between pittsburgh and erie....

my first competition was in college and it wasn't with any actual organizational body.... with that and football lifting in college, I feel in love with "dinosaur training" heavy rugged old school dungeon lifting...

Jon Kolb the 4 time super bowl champ and world's strongest man competitor was our strength coach.... and he was real good friend's with some old time world record powerlifter...can't think of his name..don R-somthing

anywho he took about 25 of us to a powerlifting competion in altoona....where we showed up without any gear, wraps, straps, chalk, baby powder ect.....we competed without suits...literally in shorts and sweats and almost swept all the weight classes..(we didn't have anyone in the 148 or under classes.. I got my card with NASA at that meet (Natural athlete Strength Association) and got on their mailing list and have done a few Nasa meets here in Illinois when I first moved here....

i'm by no means a great powerlifter...I'm just really good at deads and squats for some reason..

here is a pic from that altoona meet

notice the grove city college football issue sweats...

I got red lighted on this lift... it was my last attempt and was with 545 pounds...I double hitched on it

look up NASA/powerlifting... they are a good organization that keeps out the drug using cheaters
