    NFL's Last games???
Tried the football thread and had no luck!!!
Thought I might get some answer here.

    Hey guys,

You know Im kind of new when it comes to betting in the NFL. Have done it for fun during the last 2 seasons, but never taken it too seriously.

But there is something that bothers me. Please tell me if Im totally off here.

Doesnt the way the NFL draft is set up give teams without playoff hopes a strong incentive to lose their last games. Specially if there's a couple of great players in college football.
I mean they have already packed it up for the season, might as well do what will give them the best chance to win next year by getting a possible franchise player...
I think last year a late game between the 49ers and the Cardinals was called by the media "The Reggie Bush Sweepstakes"
I mean this would never happen in soccer leagues for example because the last teams are kicked off to a lower league...
But I just dont know how this doesnt affect the NFL's last games. Am I missing something??
And how could you fix it if it becomes too obvious??

I understand what your saying but to answer your "no" it doesn't happen. The game you are referring to was SF vs Hou last week of the season, they were calling it the Reggie Bush Bowl. NFL players and coaches are competitors and they would never intentionally throw a game to get a better draft pick. Do you really think the running backs in that game (Dominick Davis, Frank Gore, Kevan Barlow) really wanted to lose the game, so Reggie Bush could come in and take their job. Football is a business and getting the #1 overall pick means the franchise dishes out a ton of money. Do you think the veteran players whose contracts are due to renew the next year or two want less money to work with because the team paid a fortune to the new pick. The coaches never want to lose because the NFL is cut throat and if you have a losing record a lot of times you lose your job.

The only people that want "their" team to lose at the end of the season are the fans.
