I don't see how Obama compares to the USC situation at all. Obama is taking over a huge mess that there is no chance of cleaning up for years and years.
Obama is more like the new head coach of a team that has gone 2-9 for the last 8 years and has several sanctions from the NCAA hanging over its head.
I don't doubt there are people who think everything is going to be clean and shiny in a month's time but they are idiots and, I strongly suspect, a tiny minority. Maybe I'm delusional but I think people are smarter than that.
