Exactly. Teams should add players who actually "add" something to the team. Metta adds abosultely nothing. He isn't a premier 3pt-shooter (which you need around Melo), and he can't guard elite wings (LBJ, Paul George, etc.). The acquisition of Metta adds nothing to the Knicks.

Personally, I'd rather have Novak getting the minutes over Metta. Neither can really guard, at least Novak can knock down 3's.

Amare is never going to be a force on a consistent basis again. He is damaged goods. Love Artest but he has been washed up for over 2 years. Him and Bootsy were my guys at St John.

At this point in their career, they are pretty comparable, actually.

Mike Woodson came out the other day and said Stoudemire was going to be limited next season to about 20 minutes a game. And most likely take off on back-to-back nights.

He will not be a force next season. He's done.

Nothing but positives from this signing for the Knicks.
              Minimal risk, high reward.
              Chandler needs this guy.
Him and Shumpert are the only Knicks with any defensive fire.
NY will love him, and he will love NY.

They're not expecting him to do any of that. They got him on the cheap to play minimal minutes and if he does have something left in the tank, great. If he ends up just sitting on the bench all year and does nothing, it's not the end of the world.
