If im using Google Chrome as my browser, am i still being protected by my virus software? Or does it only work when i am using Internet Explorer?

Whats up with that Google Chrome, any good? I always thought Google had a lot of intrusive software especially in their search engine? Can it beat Firefox? I know it's off topic but was curious about your Chrome experience.Comment -
I have never tried Firefox, but compared to IE its incredible, super fast, bigger pages, you can do searches in the address window. Im very impressed so far. Ive only been on it for a couple weeks, but i love it.Comment -

I highly reccomend giving Firefox a try too. Chrome is well and all and its backed by Google which is a thumbs up by me but Firefox has been around for a few years now and have a lot of solid features and decent browsing security.Comment -
