    Luke 23:26-32
What did Jesus mean when he cast this curse to the Jews?

And turning to them Jesus said,
    "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me;
but weep for yourselves and for your children,
for look, days come on which they will say,
'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne,
and breasts that have not nursed!'
Then they will begin to say to the mountains, 'Fall on us,'
and to the hills, 'Cover us;'
for if they do these things when the wood is green,
what will happen when it is dry?"

has somthing to do with a reference to ezekiel....

where a prophecy talks about setting fire to someplace (like babylon) and how the blaze will consume all the trees both green(wet) and dry....

but yeah, I have no idea what is really being said there..

Archie I think this is what Jesus meant: If they chose to crucify me now that they don't even rule their own country what will they do when they rule their own country? When the wood is green it is very difficult to set on fire but when it is dry the fire spreads very quickly.

Jesus knew 2,000 years ago that if the Jews ever got their own country trouble will spread in the area he once preached. Jesus is the son of God and he saw the future and now the fire spreads on dry wood in the Middle East.

Well the Bible is divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament. I am 100% sure the New Testament is not part of the Jewish Bible. I only follow the New Testament which is the Gospels of John, Luke, Mark and Mathew.

I don't think he was making such a specific prediction or a curse. But I do think he was appealing to the Jews to change their ways.

EDIT: Actually he's appealing to his followers to heed these ways of his oppressors. It's more of a warning about what his oppressors will say and do than a specific prediction.

Jesus curse was specific to the Jews that were mocking him while he was carrying the cross up the hill. Why will he curse his followers when they were not present while he was carrying the cross? When Jesus was carrying the cross his disciples were in hiding in fear of their lives.

                                        Deep subject

This was written by Luke who was a Doctor addressed to those who would not believe he gave this stern warning.

For the time will come when you will say, "Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed. Then they will say to the mountains "Fall on us!" and to the hills, "Cover us!" This dire prophecy has two fulfillments. For those present in Jerusalem it would come just a few decades later in 70 A.D. when Rome would destroy Jerusalem.

But this prophecy also has another fulfillment. As judgement day approaches, these things will also happen. Think about it. Since 1973 women have been murdering their children before they even had a chance to be born. It is estimated that abortion has caused the death of 35,000 babies over this time period. How many mothers went into those clinics thinking, "Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed." Think about the alarming rate of suicides, especially among teenagers. Think about the debate now over the so-called right to die. Again, as we live in these last days we see this prophecy being fulfilled more and more.

For if men do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?

Jesus is the green tree and the dry wood represents all unbelievers. Jesus warns all those who refuse to believe. If I being perfectly righteous must suffer this way. How much more will you suffer on judgement day for your refusal to believe in me.

This Lenten season, let us look at ourselves. Let us examine ourselves with the mirror of God’s Law. Let that Law tear into our hearts and expose to us our sinfulness just as that flagrum tore into the flesh on the back of our Savior.

For as Paul told the Corinthians "Godly sorrow leads to repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." Let us always remember that Jesus carried our sins. Remember that Jesus suffered for us. Then we will be able to rejoice as we celebrate His resurrection and ours.

On the last day these people left behind for judgment will rather have the rocks fall on them then suffer the pain going on. The will want to just die rather than suffer.

I hope that helps a little

                                                    Hey guys,

I also read fiction books. They are one step above Dr Seuss imo

After reading your last 4 posts, I wouldn't expect you to get my point. Your sir, are too simple-minded. Nothing funny about it, until you show your ignorance yet again.
