Pitt first half vs second half
was thinking to myself how Pitt has had alot of slow starts this year, so I looked at their games and where they were at half-time and came up with some stats showing that Pitt has been a way way better second half team this year.

So decided to crunch the numbers a little further and throw out all the blow-out 25 point wins, as that skews the numbers with bench players and meaningless play.

using these 9 games of non-blow-outs and teams that were at least in the top half of the RPI rankings I got the following numbers

    S. Florida
    St. johns
    georgetown
    Rutgers
    Florida St.
    Siena
    Washington St.
    Texas Tech
    Belmont

    Pitt's avg first half score= 35.2
    Opponents first half score= 31.1
    avg halftime lead = 4.1

    Pitt second half avg= 38
    opponents second half= 28.77
avg second half diff = 9.23

Pitt scores 2.8 points more on avg in their second half vs their first half.

and Pitt's D allows an avg of 2.33 points less in the 2nd half

Louisville at first glance appears to score more and allow their opponent to score more in the 2nd half.

just food for thought for first half/2nd half players...

first half under might be nice..

first half Louisville looks to cover... 2nd half over might be a good bet too depending..

small sample size, but still might be worth somthing

Louisville is usually a slow starting team and this game is going to be so big that nerves will play a factor early on, I like the first half under as well

I usually think it is better to take favorites especailly small ones for the game rather than the 1st half.

          I wish Fazzer...

don't put too much into my analysis...it's a small sample and their were some outliars... but all in all seems like pitt starts slow and at half-time they make some good defensive adjustments..

Louisville will be a test for them though, different kind of team then most they've played
