Are there any posters here that consider other posters friends in their life? Even though you dont know them. Would you consider a poster here a true friend, even without meeting them?

Good post, Panic, this is actually a fascinating question. I've noticed that people will have wildly different opinions about whether the people in their lives who are not their family or regular friends are actually "friends" or not...
I think for some, it's an absolute unconditional YES and for others a flat-out No F'N Way. It's really interesting, it tells you a lot about people's personalities, about their trust level and their openness in general...
Like take our jobs, for instance... (those of us who have to have office jobs I mean!
)... Think about it, you spend SOOO much time all day with these people, and generally you get to know each other well, have a bunch of laughs, bond, etc. So to ME, I think of a lot of coworkers as friends, but I'm often shocked to find out that some of them will cut their own finger off before meeting you for a drink outside of work, or doing someone an outside-of-work favor. And to me, who is a totally open, heart-on-his-sleeve type of person, I just don't get that. It's like, are they just being totally fake all day long??? I could never do that. I am exactly who I appear to be.
Sorry for the long-winded tangent, ha ha... As for this forum, I haven't been here long enough or posted enough to have "friends" yet, but definitely could see it happening, there are some cool folks on here -- and we all have the same favorite hobby!
