I feel he would make a solid college coach, and think he has mentioned in the past about possible going the college route. He could have all the fun he wanted rotating qbs, a trying to be the offensive mastermind he thinks he is in a college program.

the problem with that is he has the biggest playbook in the NFL. It is alot of the reason he had rotated so many QBs at Tampa. Chris Simms couldn't learn half of it so he was out as a couple of other guys. Garcia had alot of experience with the West Coast offense so he could adapt much better than most. Gruden has been know to calll a play from page 1013 that hasn't been practice in 3 months all of a sudden. It would take a real intelligent college QB to play for Gruden. If you add in NCAA time restrictions and a college class load then I don't see that happening.

I like this idea, but would Phillips go for such a demotion? If anyone would, Wade seems like the type of guy who could. Has a HC ever become DC in a situation like this?

Jerry is all about (re)writing history, so maybe this will work. Hell, maybe he'll make Wade DC and Gruden OC and rehire Switzer as HC. I'd LOVE to see THAT!!! hahaha
