#3the 130 seems a little small to me, both play really good defense but I'd have to think that both get 65+ points.Comment -

#4was gonna be all over Louisville as Pitt is due for a bad game....
but now that Levance Fields is starting to really get back to full strength/health and some of the underclassmen 2gaurds are starting to give quality minutes and hitting the 3 balls, Pitt is starting to look very formidable.
with Fields, Young, and Blair the panthers have 3 guys that are arguably top 5 to top 10 at their position...that is real tough.
Lousiville does match up pretty good.....I think Clark, williams, samuals will be a bit tougher for Blair then most guys he faced this year that allow him to get outrageous numbers like 10 offensive boards. He is the biggest key, contain Blair and Pitt is no where near as tough....Young is streaky hot and cold and Fields hasn't been creating like he has in the past....but he doesn't turn the ball over.Comment -

#5They match up pretty well with each other. Teams are both athletic, good rebounding, play within themselves, tough, and play great defense.Comment -

#20Pitt has played consistant ball all year...which Lou team shows up?? ND should have beat them...they have already showed that being at home doesn't necessarily mean a great performance...I'll take the undefeated +1 team in the country with plus pts here....Comment -

#22Pitt is due a loss, but they are finally starting to click on all cylinders... they're 2 gaurd rotation is starting to hit 3's, Dixon is scoring, biggs can hit a 3 now and then. they are getting greating defense, especially from "who's eating" Gilbert Brown
everyone knows about Young and Blair, but Levance Fields is prob the best point gaurd in the Big East if not the country....very quietly.....he does what a good point gaurd on a team like this needs to and he has a ton of big game experience.Comment -

#30don't think Pitt has faced the big bodies and windex men that Louisville will throw at them...and they aren't just big, they are athletic and agile, top 3 scorers are in the front court...I think foul trouble will be a big part of this game, and Dejuan Blair gets in more foul trouble then most.... I think that will be a key, how many minutes Blair can play, and how "careful" will he have to be when he is playing..... big difference in your aggresiveness playing with 0 fouls or 1 foul and 3-4 fouls in the 2nd half.Comment -

#33wasn't being sarcastic goodfella.... just wanted to get a feel for where people thought Dixon was in his coaching...
I would agree with everything you say..
PItt can't win big games outside the big east.... not with howland now with Dixon.
they built a proven system for playing cupcakes, and in big east conference play...but they need to attract some top 10 recruits that are game changers... Sam Young might be that guy this year, but he is streaky...
Today will tell alot.....
I don't put too much stock into coaching vs coaching when looking at a game... I might use it as a tie-breaker when everything else is a toss-up...but those are games that I wouldn't bet in the first place.
Pitt has more talent here......but their talent is inconsistent. I like what you said about the tempo though, although pitt is way more athletic this year then any year since back in the late 80's
again, I think it will come down to bench play and foul trouble...Comment -
